Joyce Westphal

Joyce Westphal

Joyce Westphal worked for a number of years as a civil litigation paralegal at Mayer Brown, LLP, a major international law firm. In addition to working at Mayer Brown’s main Chicago office, Joyce also worked at the firm’s New York and London offices on cases involving major corporate clients. She has worked in the practice areas of professional liability, civil and criminal litigation, and insurance litigation, and used her background in software development to chair Mayer Brown’s Paralegal Technology Committee and various technology-related focus groups, liaising with the firm’s Information Technology department at a time when the firm was transitioning to a more advanced technological environment.

Joyce very much appreciates the personal aspect of the Vaccine Injury Law Project, and the ability to help people whose lives have been adversely affected by vaccine injuries. She enjoys playing music, taking continuing education classes, and living in the Chicago area with her husband and their two obstinate but very beautiful cats, Buddy and Bella.
