Vaccination Injury Lawsuit Attorneys Serving Illinois and the U.S.

Since the very beginning of vaccination in the U.S., serious vaccine injuries have been a possibility. It was some time before the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program was created to compensate people who suffered life-altering reactions to vaccines. Now, our attorney and law team can help you get compensation for the medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering resulting from your vaccine injury.

Early Vaccine Problems

The first people affected by vaccine injury had very few options. A system was not in place to help them or provide compensation. In later years, injured vaccine recipients began suing drug companies who improperly manufactured vaccines or doctors who recommended vaccines even though the patient had a medical reason making the vaccine unsafe for him or her.

These lawsuits had several consequences, including:

  • Vaccine lawsuits grew significantly
  • Drug companies were held responsible for vaccine injuries even when vaccines were made correctly
  • The majority of drug companies stopped making vaccines

The government grew concerned that vaccine development would stall and that the public health would be threatened.

No-Fault Vaccine Injury Compensation

So the drug companies could avoid liability and continue making vaccines, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) was created as part of the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, which also required vaccine recipients be warned of the risk of adverse vaccine reactions.

Even when vaccines are made safely and according to regulated standards, some people still have adverse reactions. As we each have unique genetics, we do not all react to inoculations the same way. If you have been injured by a vaccine, you could get compensation from the VICP, which does not consider whether the drug company is at fault, but instead considers whether you were injured by a vaccine.
